Embark on a safari-style wine adventure through the breathtaking Durbanville Wine Valley. Your journey begins at Protea Hotel Durbanville, where you’ll hop aboard a rugged yet comfortable safari vehicle for an unforgettable 6-hour experience of wine tasting and exploration.
Visits to Three Wineries – Savour a curated selection of cool-climate wines at three carefully chosen estates, each offering a unique expression of the valley’s terroir.
Scenic Vineyard Drives – Travel between estates in true safari style, soaking in panoramic views of rolling vineyards and the distant mountain ranges.
Expert Wine Guide On Board – Enjoy fascinating insights from your knowledgeable wine guide, who will share stories about the region’s history, terroir, and winemaking techniques throughout the journey.

Ticketing and Check-In:
You may simply show our tour guide the email confirmation, clearly showing your name and surname.
You can also print the email confirming your booking.
Please ensure you arrive at least 10 minutes before your scheduled departure time slot.
Cancellations:
If you cancel 24 hours or more before your scheduled time slot, you’ll receive a full 100% refund.
If you cancel less than 24 hours before your scheduled departure time slot, unfortunately, no refund will be given.
To initiate a refund, simply email cancellations@durbanvillewinesafari.com and include your booking ID in the subject line.

Our partner estates are focused on wine tasting, not hosting parties. To ensure a pleasant experience for all, we expect our guests to behave respectfully and responsibly. This means refraining from loud, disruptive, offensive, or intoxicated behavior. Failure to comply may result in our team suspending or terminating the tour. For safety and security, our vehicles are equipped with CCTV cameras, which are monitored throughout the service. Additionally we subscribe to an armed response security company, in case of emergency events.

Important Accessibility Notice: Our tours are not wheelchair accessible due to the safari-style vehicles and stairs involved. All passengers must be mobile and able to navigate stairs unassisted, both in the vehicles and at the wine estates.
Overall, it was an enjoyable experience, largely due to the friendly staff on the bus, who were truly amazing and helped make up for some of the issues we encountered. At Groot Phesantekraal, we were initially told that we weren't allowed to choose different wine tasting options and that our entire group had to taste the same wine. After some discussion and a bit of frustration from our group, we were eventually allowed to taste other wines. We've done several wine tasting tours in Franschhoek and Stellenbosch and haven't encountered this issue at any other wine farms. Similarly, at Diemersdal, we were required to sit at one large table with the entire bus group and were not permitted to sit as our smaller individual group at a different table. However, our experience at Canto was very nice, and we thoroughly enjoyed the rest of the tour. We were a group of 6 and we had a lovely time. Melissa & Darlington were amazing. There were 3 different groups of people on the bus and after 1 stop it felt like 1 big group. Great conversation and fun throughout the day. Sadly due to very slow service at Diemersdal nobody had time to purchase wine there, but the other stops went very smoothly. - Beth
A Memorable Wine Tasting Safari in the Heart of Durbanville Wine Valley I recently had the pleasure of experiencing a wine tasting safari in the stunning Durbanville Wine Valley, and it far exceeded my expectations. From start to finish, it was a beautifully curated experience that combined breathtaking scenery, exceptional wines, and warm hospitality. The safari-style setup added a unique twist to the traditional wine tasting experience. Traveling between estates in an open vehicle allowed us to truly appreciate the natural beauty of the valley --- rolling vineyards, mountain backdrops, and even sightings of local wildlife. It felt immersive, adventurous, and wonderfully relaxing all at once. Each estate we visited had its own character and charm. The staff at every stop were knowledgeable and passionate, offering detailed insights into their wine-making process and the unique terroir of Durbanville. The wines themselves were outstanding --- elegant whites, bold reds, and a few delightful surprises like MCCs and boutique blends. What truly stood out was the personal touch and attention to detail. Our guide, Melissa was enthusiastic and incredibly well-informed, sharing stories that brought the history and personality of the region to life. Whether you're a seasoned wine lover or just looking for a memorable way to explore the Cape Winelands, this safari is a must. It's a brilliant combination of adventure, luxury, and indulgence. I left with a deeper appreciation for Durbanville wines and memories I'll cherish for a long time, as well as a few new friends we made on the safari.
